Common Uses for GLUCOSAMINE, MSM, and CHONDROITIN:
Glucosamine and Chondroitin: Structural Support for Joints:
Glucosamine, which is synthesized in our bodies from glucose, is a major component of joint soothing glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). Chondroitin sulfate is the most abundant GAG in the body. GAGs in turn form proteoglycans, molecules that hold and bind the water that is so important to lubricate joints, disperse stress and provide nourishment to joint tissue.
Glucosamine sulfate has been found to be well-absorbed after oral administration. Numerous double-blind, placebo controlled studies have examined the positive effects of oral administration glucosamine sulfate.
Dietary Sulfur for Joint Lubrication:
Glucosamine sulfate, MSM, and Chondroitin sulfate provide an additional source of sulfur, a mineral that is important for health connective tissue.
MSM, or methylsulfonylmethane, a naturally occurring form of organic sulfur found in body fluids and tissue, cow's milk, plants and most natural foods. MSM is an important source of dietary sulfur, which is vital to all tissues and needed constantly in an assimilable form. Sulfur may promote joint flexibility due to its role in supporting joint lubrication and movement.
